Crafting Elixirs: Kitchen Herbalism & Practical Magic - SOLD OUT

Blueberryjams & Lvnea Present:
Crafting Elixirs: Kitchen Herbalism & Practical Magic
Join us at the Lvnea boutique for a workshop with Pamela Andi from Blueberryjams.
Tuesday, February 4th, 6:00-8:30 PM.
5175 Parc Ave, Montreal, QC.

In this workshop, participants will get to dive into one aspect of kitchen magic & practical magic-making: the crafting of elixirs. We will be discussing what elixirs are & how we use them and we shall also focus on the different herbal transformations that can be used to make them including herbal honeys, syrups, oxymels, cordials and more.

Together, we will explore - through sensory engagement & the drinking of herbal infusions - some key herbs for the making of elixirs for the heart, the winter time, transitions, sexual healing, and more. The crux of this workshop will be the making of an elixir as a group as well as the opportunity to take home a blend of a few herbs to make an elixir at home.

Herbal infusions will be served. Participants will take home a zine with recipes & information. Please bring two 125ml+ clean glass jars if you wish to take home the group elixir and your own blend of herbs.

Cost: 25-35$
Sliding scale according to financial ability.
Maximum 15 Participants.
Blueberryjams offers a variety of crafted products, penned texts, and skill-shares with a focus on DIY, radical home economics, and folk herbalism through an emphasis on sustainability, creativity, and community.

This event takes place on the traditional territory of the Kanien'kehá:ka. The island called “Montreal” is known as Tiotia:ke in the language of the Kanien'kehá:ka, and it has historically been a meeting place for other Indigenous nations, including the omàmiwininì or Algonquin people.

Practicing herbal magic & developing relationships with plant medicines on stolen land requires an ongoing commitment to inform oneself of the past and ongoing consequences of colonialism. This also means actively supporting Indigenous Peoples in their resistance to colonialism and extractive capitalism.
