The latin root of the word perfume denotes fragrance’s historical beginnings as flaming wards and pyres of devotion, first used in the form of incense, aromatics, and sweet scented woods. Fitting, then, that LVNEA’s boldest scent should act as a dark, smouldering shroud, veiling the wearer in thick swaths of woodsmoke and embers. Feu Follet Eau de Parfum is an unapologetically smoky forest fragrance with a dry, woody, and resinous drydown. 

Notes: the crackling of conifer needles, scorched bark, and burning balsams; columns of billowing smoke from a nearby wildfire, leather, and the redolence of church incense.

Perfectly smokey

Going to keep it simple: I love smokey scents, and this meets that requirement without smelling like mesquite barbecue.

However, it smells like grape vines, which I was not expecting from the notes. It smells like a vineyard lighting flames to protect the vines from the cold. Do not me wrong, it's great, its my most used scent, but caught me off guard when initially purchasing it.

Smells like nicer bottle of liquid smoke

Definitely smells like smoke lol, I've had people ask me if I've been camping due to my jacket smelling like a campfire. I absolutely love to layer this over other perfumes, especially Babylon Rose.

Like smoking a clove cigarette in church

The scent warm and smoky as described. I layer it with the roll on perfume oil and it lasts the whole day. I am a cologne junkie. Recently I became allergic to basically all chemical based fragrances, seemingly overnight, leaving me with a very expensive hoard of parfums I can no longer use. Thank you for making natural products!

One step closer...

I actually bought Feu Follet in sample form for a friend who can never get enough smoke-smelling things, but I've decided to keep it and give her my sample of Smoke+Oud parfume creme instead. Although the smoke is very present here, it's not straight campfire-in-your-face the entire time. It simmers down relatively quickly and mixes into a more woodsy, resin-y forest-fire-from-afar scent. The amber softens it up some, too. I'm on a quest to find a scent that evokes christmas midnight mass from my religious childhood and I think the closest I've come is a dab of this plus a dab of Mourning Ritual in the same spot. That way I get some of the incense, the fresh pine trees, the flowers, candle smoke, old wooden building, all at once.

Gentle and smoky

It's definitely got that campfire smell, but it's light and airy, like you're smelling it from a long distance away. Wood smoke can be very overpowering, and it starts off like that fresh out of the bottle, which can be a little overpowering, but dries to something much much more fragrant and dark which I've not seen many other perfumes able to do with that scent.
